AdamEve Ceases Sales of Sex Toys Containing Phthalates
17th February 2007
AdamEve has officially announced plans to cease sales of any adult novelties containing phthalates.
Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are a group of chemical compounds that are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility). The phthalates exact long-term effects in humans are unknown.
This controversial chemical compound has been used since the 1920s in beauty products, vinyl flooring, and some sex toys.
A lot’s of adult novelty manufacturers has responded to the issue by publishing a list of all its phthalate-free products.
It’s seems that ‘Phthalates’ has become the newest dirty word in the industry.
